COME CLOSER TO CHRISTINA
Christina Julsgaard is a creative force with a history that spans from the vibrant scenes of the fashion world to the deep and spiritual landscape of art. At the age of 20, she made her dream of a design career a reality. She traveled the world as a designer and buyer for a Danish design company, where she learned everything about running a successful fashion business.
A Visionary Designer with a Global Outlook
A few years later, Christina launched her own minimalist clothing brand, YIIP Copenhagen , which quickly found its way to 10 countries. From 2001 to 2007, she ran both her own store and a gallery in the heart of Copenhagen. Her designs were characterized by an elegant, minimalist style with a strong sense of detail – an approach that would later also characterize her artistic work.
"I have always had a strong urge to create. For me, it is easy to visualize ideas and make them a reality," says Christina Julsgaard.
From Fashion to Painting – An Artistic Journey
Christina began painting in 2001, and painting quickly became an essential source of energy and inspiration in her creative life. Traveling around the world has given her a huge visual bank of inspiration from art, fashion and human encounters. These experiences became the foundation of her artistic expression – a beautiful fusion of minimalism, contrast and depth.
In 2009, Christina chose to step out of the fashion world to focus fully on her identity as an artist. Her paintings allow her to explore deeper human values and express herself through an intuitive and abstract visual language.
Art with Global Reach
Christina's unique works have found their way to art collectors and galleries all over the world. From Copenhagen to New York, Berlin, London, Stockholm, Shanghai and many more places, her paintings adorn the walls of art lovers who appreciate her life-enriching expression.
"The paintings are my emotional and intuitive space. They give me the opportunity to connect experiences, feelings and thoughts into a special abstract language," says Christina.
Her art is a form of visual music – a way of communicating that speaks directly to the viewer’s emotions. Christina loves to hear how people experience her paintings and the stories they see in her works.
Christina herself says; "The paintings are my emotional and intuitive space. Here I can connect experiences, feelings and thoughts into my own special, abstract language."

In 2011, she was selected as one of 102 Danish artists for the major international project Elephant Parade , where she decorated an elephant sculpture that adorned the streets of Copenhagen. The project supported the conservation of Asian elephants, and Christina contributed with her significant abstract style, where colors and shapes created a strong visual narrative.
Adventurous art on the hotel walls
Another significant project in Christina’s artistic journey is a large mural she created for a hotel in Copenhagen. Here, she transformed several walls into a coherent artistic experience, where her bright colors and intuitive abstract expressions spread like a visual symphony. The adventurous mural brings energy and inspiration to the hotel’s guests, who can now experience her art in a whole new way.
"It was a fantastic challenge to work on such a large scale. Creating art that becomes part of a space and impacts people in their daily lives is something I am truly passionate about. I hope to have the opportunity to do more projects like this," says Christina Julsgaard.
